I recently paid one the Picerne Military Housing Directors at Fort Riley in Kansas a $1, 000 "Consultant Fee" to get me on board and to get me some construction contracts there, he then informed me that because my EMR is 1.25 I am not eligible for working there evn though I had previously told him of this and he said he could Purge the subcontractor list and still keep his average at 1.0.
I then rec'd an email from the corporate office insinuating that is was me who "Bribed" the Director. I have copied below the email I sent in response to Mr Culton's email.
"Mr Culton, I have to inform you that I take great exception of the word Bribe. The fact is I did make a call Mr Cavarretta, but it was as a follow up to a solicitation he had made to my company several months ago. I called Mr Cavaretta to discuss this work and as his schedule was busy we agreed to meet after work at Kites in Junction City. During our conversation Chuck told me that he had property back east to maintain and also had 2 children going thru college and as the economy is tough right now he needed to do some Consulting work to keep things ticking over until the economy picked up and he could move back there. I was informed that for a "Good Faith" payment of $1, 000 up front, he could tee up some contracts and get me thru what he called a comprehensive pre-qualification process. He said that was the way he conducted business back east and Picerne was no exception, so at no time during this did I make a Bribe, and that's why I take exception to the wording your email".
I was then informed that a call from Senator Jack Reed's office was rec'd and I had to stop my complaint, I think is unfair as Picerne is the biggest, or one of the biggest contributors to Senator Reed campaign, Reed incidently serves on the Subcommittee on Military Construction which awarded 7 military contract to Picerne.
I know I will not get back my $1, 000 but I am disgusted that a company like Picerne, who claim to be one of the best construction companies can get away with this behavior using not only our tax dollars but the BAH allowance given to our troops for housing.
There was other posts on Craigslist and Riley Underground on this company saying if the employee was a regular employee he/she would have been fired without question, but as he is a company director he will still get to keep his job. |
